We had come to Prescott specifically to check out the oldest rodeo in the world….during Prescott Frontier Days. We were not disappointed.

Since the rodeo was in the evening at the fairgrounds, we had all day to wander around the town center, get a lazy breakfast and practice our procurement skills….ie: shop. We did a pretty good job.
We found a great place for breakfast, a quaint bookstore and a great pizza place for good slices. But the focus of our day was rest and relaxation, as we knew we would be up late at the rodeo and then get an early start to trek back to Southern California.
That evening, we found the Prescott Fairgrounds and watched the Worlds’s Oldest Rodeo.
What can I say? We’ve been to rodeo’s in Wyoming and Arizona and love the excitement, athleticism and genuine cowboy skills demonstrated by men and women working at high skills levels. I mean, we own and train donkeys…which we think are authentic symbols of the West, so watching rodeo and actually being there is kinda cool.
Ok, one more post next week about the end of this road trip and then we’re done with this series. Thank for reading and have a great day.
