Our experience through the canal started at about 3:00 in the morning. I woke up, got dressed and found, to my intense surprise, that, as usual, I was the last one awake, despite the time. Such is the woes of one who sleeps in.

You start the game in the Shrine of Resurrection, a shrine that doesn’t do much but is pretty helpful in the lore: the story is a hundred years ago, a prophecy was issued that Calamity Ganon, antagonist of the game, is to rise again, along with Link, the Master Sword’s wielder and Ganon’s enemy, and Zelda, the princess with the sacred powers that will lock Ganon away.
