9/11…..25 Years Ago Today

25 years ago today and I remember it like it was yesterday.  I’m writing about 9/11, the event that shaped the rest of my life and shaped the future of the United States.  This was an attack by a few on the many.

From the World Trade Center attacked by aircraft to the aircraft attack on the Pentagon and then the failed attack that crashed in the field in Shanksville, PA….these were events staged to gain maximum publicity and generate fear in the American psyche.  They succeeded.

For me, I’m back living in the same town that I was living in when the attacks happened.  It’s the same weather, the same smells…ect.   I’m retired now, but the memories still bubble up inside me like an expanding ball of hate and fear.  I’m different now, life around me is entirely different now, but 9/11 still happened and will never be changed.  There’s no take-backs for that one.
