What do you do after a couple of hours at a Boat Show on a Saturday with no kids? Especially when there’s a micro-brewery behind a strip club and across from a dinghy and engine shop?
We decided to check it out, and it was awesome! Modern Times Brewing is the FIRST micro-brewery that was ever so crowded I had to stand in line to get into the place, but once inside the service was great and the place didn’t feel crowded. Located in Point Loma (San Diego) Ca, this place is literally behind a strip club in a bit of an industrial area,,,,but in no way sleazy. It’s also literally across from the Dinghy Doctor, which is how I found it in the first place. Nope, I was not hanging out at the strip club,,,,although the bartenders did say it’s nice to have that place there,,,,in case they ever run out of “ones”. I liked the inside and the crowd hanging around, very nice diversity and very mellow crowd. Since Modern Times does beer and coffee, there was a great soft coffee smell coming from the small store in the brewery and they were very liberal with the tasters, meaning great service. Me and Hot Wife both found beers we liked. Coolest thing besides great beer was the decorating on the walls. You gotta see it to appreciate it,,,,I’ll show you my pics, but go in there if you’re ever in the area to truly see the massive scale of the decorating:

Good beer, cool ambiance, give it a try if you’re ever around the area.
LF2SF has no financial interest in this micro-brewery except if they want to give us free beer.

Wow, really cool spot to hang around! A little far for me, but I’d definately want to pay them a visit if I was in town 😉
That looks like so much fun! Teddy and I go to a restaurant with home smoked ham and craft beers every Saturday. You have to watch the strength of some of those local Texan beers – just as well I am usually driving.
