This day will always be a vivid memory for me, never fading. Like the attacks on Pearl Harbor for a generation past, this will continue to live in the collective memory of Americans for numerous generations. There are demented individuals everywhere and continued vigilance will always be needed to guard against those who would attack innocents.
We’ll continue to live free and (try) to sail faster (when we get our sweet new sails) as we go along.

I was still living in Germany at that time, but I still vividly remember the horror I felt seeing those pictures on TV there.
